What does Reworked mean? 
Taking clothes that were manufactured by another person or company and deconstructing and repurposing them to create a new garment. We rework clothes that have been used for their purpose and create something completely new. This is particularly fulfilling when an item is damaged because it would have been thrown away. This fabric is used to make something new and exciting.

What condition will my vintage item be in? 
Because vintage and second hand clothes have been used by another person they may show signs of wear. This is usually very minor, and is the same condition of items that have been in your own wardrobe for a while. Minor wear includes signs of washing and slight fading in colour. We restore items that have more than minor wear by removing stains, bobble removable and minor repairs. Anything that cannot be repaired will be noted in the description of the item along with images so that you can make sure the garment is still right for you.

How do I make sure I order the right size? 
We have measurements for each item, as well as our recommended best fit along with the original size of the item. All clothing manufacturers size clothes differently, and it can also vary at different periods of time. This is why sometimes you will find that you're a certain size at one place, and at another shop the size you need is completely different. For vintage clothes it can be even harder because sizes were often made differently from today, for example in the 90's a lot of sweatshirts were made larger to have a bigger oversized fit, and in the early 2000's a lot of items were more cropped and tight fitting. We recommend that you use our measurements and compare against your own clothing to determine the fit. 

Why do you sell real leather? 
Real leather is more sustainable than faux leather when it is vintage or second hand. Faux leather uses huge amounts of plastic that take years and years to biodegrade, and it does not last very long in your wardrobe. Buying real leather that is already in circulation means that you are not supporting the unethical leather industry, but you will receive a high quality garment that will last you a lifetime. 

I can't find what I want on your site, do you accept custom orders? 
If an item that you wanted to buy is now out of stock, please message us and we will do our best to source this item for you. Because a lot of vintage items are rare and hard to find this is not always possible, but we will be able to find a similar alternative. Why can't I buy an item in different sizes? 
We source a range of different sizes of clothes, because each item is one of one we are usually only able to stock one size because it's simply the item that we have found. In our reworked section, a lot of items fit a range of different sizes because a stretchy waistband is added. Our crop tops predominantly best fit a UK 8/10 because this is our staff members size that models the clothing. All of our crop tops can be altered to fit a smaller size, and most of our cropped hoodies can be made to fit a smaller or larger size by altering or extending the waistband. As we expand and grow, we can't wait to increase our size range and have people of all different sizes modelling our clothes. We recognise that it is important to be as inclusive as possible, and so we offer alterations free of charge. Also, if a reworked item is not your size we will re-source the item and make it to fit your size, again at no extra cost. Please do not hesitate to drop us a message if you need an item to be resized.

How will my item be packaged? 
All orders are packaged in recycled brown kraft paper which is stamped with a Hazel Layne Vintage logo. Inside your package is a flyer with some information, as well as your invoice. This is placed into a grey mailer bag made from 100% recycled materials. 

How can I track my order? 
Every order comes with tracking information. Your tracking number is available once your item has been shipped and can be accessed in your account 'orders' page. 

What are the international taxes and duties that I will need to pay? 
We dispatch from the UK - depending on which country you are ordering from, you may have to pay taxes or duties when your order reaches customs. Please check your local tax and duties regulations before ordering to avoid any surprise charges - we are not responsible for any taxes or customs duties incurred. 

I am ordering as a gift, will the total be displayed in the package? 
The total will not be displayed inside the package! However, if you are an international customer we have a legal duty to declare the total amount on the customs label, which is on the outside of the package. 

Orders

Do you accept returns and exchanges? 
We do! It is important to us that you are happy with your order. However, please do your best to ensure that you are 100% happy with the item before ordering and that you check the sizing details before buying. You have 14 days after receiving your item to make your request. Sale items and custom orders cannot be returned. For more information please see our refund policy.

How do I make changes to an order I have already placed?
Your are able to make changes to your order within 1 hour of purchase. Please note that we are not able to make changes to your delivery address, so please ensure it is correct at checkout. 

Other

Do you offer alterations? 
We offer alterations free of charge, please message us before ordering to ensure that your item can be altered. We are able to resize most of our items to fit a smaller size, and in some cases we can resize an item to fit a larger size. 

When do you add new items? 
We upload new stock every week. To keep updated on new drops, follow us on our Instagram or subscribe to our newsletter.

Can I buy a gift voucher from you? 
Yes, we do offer gift cards in the form of e-vouchers. They are perfect if you want to buy an item for someone else but you're not 100% sure what to choose. To buy, please see our gift voucher page.

What are your sustainability practices? 
Although sustainability is at the core of our brand, we take extra steps to ensure that we are as ethical as possible in all elements of our day to day operations. Our stock is sourced from a range of places that are local to reduce our carbon footprint. Our reworked goods are created in house where we have control over working conditions and our employees are paid a fair wage. All of our packaging is either made from recycled materials, including our mailer bag, or is easily recyclable such as paper scraps. Everything that is recyclable will always be recycled by us. It is so important to us that we keep sustainability in mind with element of our business, we are always looking for new ways to improve because it's counterproductive for us to save clothes from landfills and then harm the environment in other ways, such as using plastic in our packaging, which just adds to the problem in another way.
